Next GM – 7pm on Thursday the 4th of March, coop hut. Like tens of thousands of others from around the world, including quite a few Coop members (Rich, Tom and Andy from 1Fl, Sam 20 Arg, Ben 22 Arg), I spent most of December in Copenhagen, to witness and try to influence the UN negotiations on climate change (COP15 – the 15th Conference of Parties of [...] There will be a Wild Thyme community meal on Sunday the 28th Feb, in Romsey Labour Club. WILD THYME – 3 Course Vegan Meal & Music, raising cash to save the world! Food from 6 until it runs out! Live music starts at 9pm.Food £8-10, Unwaged £5, Kids £3. Music only – donation on the door. They do courses called ‘Carbon Conversations’, where people can explore ways in which they can make big reductions in carbon emissions, and together overcome the barriers associated with making such reductions. In the next few weeks there will [...] As part of our eco-renovation project, the coop decided that it would be good to have an energy rep in each house, who would read the meter every month and bring the reading to the office. This hasn’t happened yet, although I’ve been reading the meters every month since November. I’ve also done a bit [...] Fairtrade fortnight this year will begin 22 Feb till 7 March. A fortnight of fun and frolics to get everyone swapping their unfairly traded Tea / coffee / fruit / sweets or even condoms for a Fairtrade variety. Late in 2009, a housing needs survey of ASH residents was conducted and found that almost all respondents expressed a need for more family housing and flats for single people [...] There’s been a few conversations recently about ways we can more easily communicate about stuff we’d like to give away/share/have.
