Open Meetings
We organised a meeting/conference on the 25th of November 2006. The main purpose was to hear from lots of people who had helped set up housing co-ops around the UK.
We held another meeting on the 1st February 2007. The primary purpose was for people in Cambridge to meet and talk about what they want.
Birmingham Co-operative Housing Services are part of Accord, an RSL who have developed co-ops before. They came to give a presentation on the possibility of ASH developing in partnership with them on Saturday, 24 February 2007. Some people from outside ASH also attended.
CDS gave a similar presentation on partnering with them on Saturday 17 March, 2-4pm.
When the Orchard Park land became available we held several meetings to discuss the possibility of investing in the site, and ended up making a unanimous decision to go forward with development there. We held design days where we went to look at the site, and built models of both the site and a a single floor of a dwelling in full scale out of cardboard.
The Orchard Park development fell through, and we started looking into the railway land next door. in 2010 or 2011 BCHS came down to visit us and went through the figures of how a new development might stack up. We voted unanimously to offer a certain amount for the land, with the intention of developing there.

Sustainable building
Many people are keen that if a new development is built from scratch it should have good environmental credentials. See also Development:NewCoop:Environment.
