Development:RailtrackStrip
From AshWiki
The Idea
There's quite a strip of land down the side of the ASH, which looks unused and is _probably_ owned by the rail people. Andy 2 Argyle thinks it's the best bet if we want to try and expand the footprint of ASH at all and is willing to put some work into finding out how we'd go about getting it. Get in touch with him if you want to help out.
To be inspired, simply look right and down a bit as you walk back to ASH from 'the other side of the bridge'. As you pass the dead grey box you should see a bit of fenced in land that streches right from the top end of our car park, back to the track entrance at Fletchers Terrace.
It's kinda wedged shaped, and gets quite wide towards the bridge. I'm assuming that rail people will want access at Fletchers, and down the stairs at the bridge, but this is already fenced off, the scrub area is quite clear.
To Do
- Get a nice image up here and some photos so people know what I'm talked about. (note: you need to be logged in to upload images)
- Check with land registar, who actually owns the land.
- Andy has got contact details of people at railways, to start process, but might wait to see if we can find anything on the 'legal owner' first.
- Get a copy of the ASH blue prints, see how good they are, see if they cover that space?
Land Plan
We don't really need to have a plan for what we'd do with the land, it's just a good idea to expand our footprint. We shouldn't let 'a master plan' hold up the process of looking into aquiring the extra space. But if we had a nice plan for the extra land, it might make getting it easier, and hopefully get people excited about getting involved in the idea.
Some ideas to get the ball rolling...
- The Workshop
- Recording Studio
- Bunker / Turrets
- Store
- Houses
- Bigger garden!
- Redevelop the greenhouse area
- Cafe
- The best bike shed ever
And it's not like we have to build it all at once...
