What goes in each bin or box?

Black Box

Glass
- Clean jars and bottles
- NO broken or window glass
Paper
- NO envelopes
- NO Yellow Pages
- NO card, egg boxes or juice cartons
Metal
- Clean cans and lids
- Aerosols
- Clean foil
- NO paint cans

Remove lids and corks and squash cans.

Blue Box

Only plastic bottles
- NO other plastic!
- NO plastic food trays or yoghurt pots

Green Bin

All compostable waste
- Food waste
- Garden waste
- Envelopes
- All cardboard
- Yellow Pages
- NO biodegradable bin bags!
- NO soil or stones
- NO painted or treated wood
- NO Tetrapak juice/milk/wine cartons
- NO textiles

Black Bin

Things that cannot be recycled

The Hut

Batteries
Light Bulbs - especially energy saver CFLs (they contain mercury)

Freecycle

You can set up and use freecycle completely by email, if you don't want a Yahoo group

With Yahoo! Groups, you can do a lot (subscribe, send messages, receive Group updates…and more!) purely with email. Here are some useful email operations:

Computer Recycling

Reboot is using unwanted computers and peripherals, producing refurbished PCs for local socially minded organisations or for re-sale. Unusable components are being disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
