Thoughts for improvement

Screen 3: Housing History

  • Do we really need the "remove row" button?

... if we remove it then it's probably worth either restricting the number of rows that can be added or removing the functionality altogether ... what do you think?

Screen 7: Declaration

The summary could do with a little tidying

  • the apostrophe I put in a text field gets a backslash when shown on the page
  • 'Housing history' - reports the number of rows that exist, not the number of rows with text in them

... good points!

General points

  • It would be good to add something like "fields with a * by them have to be filled in", in a sensible place on every screen

...good point

  • medium priority - If the user goes "back" using the navigation, any changes made are lost! Can we save without validating?

...bit fiddly but (of course) possible

  • high priority - It would be cool to format the email so that it could just be printed out and look something like the current form, for the benefit of staff and shortlist interviewers - so having the parts "for office use only" and so on.

...once the basic functionality is sound this is top of the list!

  • The stage 1-7 boxes at the top wrap onto a new line on my monitor, which is a pretty big wide-screen one. It might be worth using smaller fonts, or putting in a hard break at number 4?

...we can adjust the css easily enough

  • It would be nice if you could use the links at the top of the page could be used as the "next" button - so the next page, even if not already filled in would be a link.

...good idea

  • The navigation buttons at the bottom of the page sometimes aren't big enough to contain the text in them. This happens on pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Also it might be nice to say "next" and "previous" on the buttons, or text by the buttons saying "Save fields and continue" or "Go back" or something like that.

...yup, view & css fiddling

  • The navigation buttons at the bottom of the page might benefit from being nearer the middle of the page where people might find them more easily.

...more css fiddling :-D
